Barnicle and Husk will be featured at fun book reading events and a live appearance at the historic Mayflower Society House (a.k.a. Edward Winslow House) on the Plymouth Waterfront on the following dates:

Tuesday, April 30th from 10:00 - 11:00am:  Pre-school age children will enjoy a reading of the pre-reader book, Barnicle and Husk: The Beginning. This recently-published edition features beautiful full-color illustrations by Bob Ostrom. Children will also receive a free activity sheet based on the book, which will also be available for sale.

Thursday, May 2nd from 3:30 - 4:30pm:  An after-school reading of some chapters from the book Barnicle and Husk: The Adventure Begins will take place for children in grades 3-6. The book, which also features illustrations by Bob Ostrom, tells the historically-accurate view of America's founding story with authentic details of Wampanoag life. Children will receive a free activity sheet after the event, and books will be available for sale.

Sunday, May 5th from 1:00 - 4:00pm: It's a fun-filled afternoon with Barnicle and Husk! Our favorite cat and mouse duo will appear live at the Mayflower Society House to meet and greet families and pose for photos. Kids will enjoy book readings and fun activities, play the Barnicle and Husk board game, and meet author Mary Shields, who will be available to sign copies of her books. While you’re there, watch the Barnicle and Husk animated storybook, “The Beginning,” playing every 15 minutes throughout the afternoon. Free activity handouts for kids too!
